Currently we have 2 apiaries located in Knoxville Maryland and Kearneysville West Virginia. Both sites have about 15 hives each so 30 in total.
Yes, many times! Haha
Wildflower honey for sure.
Knoxville MD apiary sits on top of Maryland Heights/Elk Ridge mountain. There is a wide variety of flowers and tress the bees love. This variety really helps create a great tasting honey.
Clover, Lavender, Goldenrod, Salvia, Beebalm, Coneflower, Black eyed Susan, Joe-pye weed, Milkweed, Columbine, Tulip poplar, Black Locust, Dogwood (Cornus Florida), Redbud, Maple, Oak . To name a few...
Kearneysville WV apiary is located in and around beautiful farm lands in Jefferson County. The bees get a wide array of options here on the farm with many plants blooming constantly throughout the season to keep them busy and satisfied. They specifically take advantage of the early spring season when the Peaches, Apples, Plum, Pears and Cherry trees begin to flower.
Remember 1 out of 3 bites of food was provided with the help of honeybees providing the pollination to that food source. That is why bees are so important to the environment as there are some crops that can't produce without them. Like almond trees, farmers who grow and harvest almonds depend on having bees themselves or rely on beekeepers to transport bee hives to their farms just to pollinate the trees. Bee pollination is a multi million dollar business, not to mention all the products that contain honey, wax or any other byproduct from honey bees.
Yes, Sanders Honey Hole sells raw, unfiltered, locally sourced quality honey. While we are more than your typical hobbyist, we are not in the business of mass production. We care about our bees and the sustainment of our apiary's. The honey that is produced we ensure we maintain the consistency and quality that has defined us today.

If you are in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia I highly encourage you to stop in at one of two locations of Burnt Bean Coffee Shop in Martinsburg, WV. You can always grab a fresh cup of coffee and if you get there early enough in the AM you can grab some homemade baked goods which features our honey from time to time. I promise you wont be disappointed.

Also carrying 1lb bottles of honey is Rail Side Market out in Summit Point. Wonderful owners and staff but most of all a great place to stop by if you are heading to the racetrack or cutting through the area to get to Virginia. Their deli selection always hits the spot with new and fresh menu options daily. Don't forget to grab something to wash it down with as they carry a good beer selection too.
Typically we do not ship due to shipping cost, but most of all we like to keep our local customers stocked with our delicious honey . However if you have an unwavering desire for some of the best honey from this area, drop us a line and we may be able to accommodate some special requests at times.
